New, revised edition based on newly recovered orchestral parts!
An utterly charming work for flute, strings and continuo, reconstructed by Daniel Ryan and Suzanne Stumpf.
This edition is a reconstruction of Lampe’s Cuckoo Concerto based on two sources: a short score published in 1740 by John Wilcox and a set of parts from an 18th-century bound set of printed and manuscript music titled “Musica de la Theatro.” The Wilcox publication is notated on two staves with the treble staff containing what appears to be the solo flute part and possibly material from the first violin part, and the bass staff containing the bass line. The “Musica de la Theatro” source includes only the string and continuo parts and lacks the solo flute part.
This edition includes the original string and continuo parts and a reconstruction of the solo flute part based on the John Wilcox publication.
